Eric Bischoff a man who doesn't get enough credit in the world of professional wrestling. A man who started the Monday Night Wars when he was handed the reigns and checkbook for WCW. Signing superstars like Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, and Kevin Nash started it. But it wasn't until Alundrya Blaza aka Medusa went on Nitro and threw the WWF Women's Championship in the garbage pail. That was the official start on the MNW. Numerous golden ERA stars followed and both WCW and WWE/F pushed themselves to be bigger and better for almost a decade. Bischoff tried things that weren't heard of. He would announce results of RAW that were pre taped on episodes of Nitro so people wouldn't change the channel to see. He changed Nitro to a live show forcing WWE to the same with RAW. At one point WCW was leading the monday night ratings. A combinaion of bad writing, lack of creativity, and too many chiefs and no indians led to WCW's demise and eventual sale to WWE and Vince McMahon. Though we look back and see that many would be hall of famers were once a part of Bischoff's Nitro: Hulk Hogan, Iron Shiek, Roddy Piper, Randy Savage, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, 4-Horsemen, Ric Flair, Rickey Steamboat, Big Bossman, Alundrya Blaze, Sensational Sherri, Booker T, Honkey Tonk Man, Ted DiBiase Sr, Ultimate Warrior, Eddie Guerrero, Sting, and more.
