We at damage365 Promotions/Radio are proud to announce that our 2nd inductee in our Hall of Fame for 2017 is Ricky Otazu. To most he is known as Ricky O, and Ricky has been active within the wrestling industry for almost 25 years. Getting his start back in 1993 working as local promoter for the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) & Dennis Coralluzzo. In 2004 Ricky became a national promoter for the NWA to about 2008 when he started his own promotion. Otazu prospered with his new New Jersey based promotion called Jersey Championship Wrestling (JCW). With JCW Otazu had some of the biggest names in the business and even ones before they were even a household name. His Jersey J-Cup tournament idea blossomed into a display of the some of the greatest names in Indy. The Jersey J Cup, also known as the Chris Candido Memorial J-Cup Tournament, was an annual professional wrestling tournament held by Funkdafied Wrestling Federation (FWF), typically between April and June. Modeled after the Super J-Cup by New Japan Pro Wrestling. Visit info on the Jersey J-Cup. In 2016 Otazu decided he wanted to take his promotion outside of its Jersey based surroundings and felt that a name change was needed as well. Thus Game Changer Wrestling was born! Whether the years of the business became too much or Ricky needed some time away he sold the business and its likeness in 2016 to one of his long time friends and worker Danny DeManto and Brett Lauderdale. We interviewed Ricky O on the Indy Supershow with that news breaking announcement. That can be listened to via the player below. After all these years of contributions to the business we decided it's time to salute and honor Ricky (O) Otazu by inducting him into our Hall of Fame!
