As we announced on our page this past weekend, Warriors of Wrestling lost one of their own. Former member of the tag team "Those Guys" Frankie Getz who's real name is Joseph "Moose" Pizzarro lost a personal battle. Pizzarro who was known as a fun out going guy who loved to wrestle and be with his brethren. When he wasn't battling it out in the squared circle, Joe was protecting our home front in Staten Island, NY as a member of the NYPD. Sgt. Pizzarro was a family man and was married with 2 children. He was a member of the NYPD for 15-years and helped keep the streets of Staten Island safe. Pizzarro took up wrestling at the Warriors of Wrestling Training Center in the Travis part of Staten Island in April of 2016. He learned quick and was on the main roster and no time. Along with his tag team partner Tony Booze they immediately became a formidable tag team. As their skills increased so did their popularity with the home crowd. On Saturday January 13th word came down via text messages and eventually SI Live that Joe was gone. Undoubtedly losing a personal battle that many did not know existed. A somber atmosphere was cast over the lock room prior to the show. The troops knew the show must go on and that Frankie Getz wouldn't of wanted it any other way. A moment of silence was held and in tradition of the wrestling industry there was a 10-bell salute. The locker room that included former ECW & WWE star Tommy Dreamer surrounded the ring while tag team partner Tony Booze, WOW President Joe Bellini, and ring announcer Sam Gomez sounded the bells. The show did go on. Friday February 9th in Staten Island, NY (Fun Station USA) Warriors of Wrestling will be holding a show with the proceeds going to Joseph Pizzarro's family. It's a public show and all are encouraged to attend and show their support. The show will be like others but as we mentioned it will go directly to helping his family. With that said damage365 Promotions will be selling wrestling cards individually for $1ea, autographed cards for $10ea, Signed Emma 8x10's $15ea, Emma figures signed for $25ea, and damage365 Promotions T shirts for $15ea. 50% of what we raise will be donated to the Pizzarro family. We're encouraging other vendors to do so as well.
